MUFASA & SCAR (Leijonakuningas – The Lion King)

”Yes, well, as slippery as your mind is, as the king’s brother, you should have been first in line!”

Mufasa ja Scar ovat leijonaveljekset, joilla ei todellakaan ole hyvä suhde. Oikeastaan heidän suhteensa on niin huono, että isoveljelleen kateellinen Scar tappaa Mufasan päästäkseen kuninkaaksi. Jos kyseessä olisi oikeita leijonia, veljekset saattaisivat joskus tapella, mutta yleensä leijonaveljekset pitävät yhtä ja hallitsevat yhdessä valtaamaansa laumaa. Yhdessä laumassa saattaa olla jopa neljä ”kuningasta”, jotka ovat kaikki läheistä sukua keskenään. Mutta koska Leijonakuningas on Hamlet savannilla, eivät leijonaveljekset tietenkään voi olla kovin hyvissä väleissä.

Mufasa and Scar are lion brothers with a definitely not very great relationship. Actually, their relationship is so bad that the jealous Scar kills his big brother Mufasa to become the king himself. If they were actual lions they might sometimes quarrel but usually lion brothers co-operate and rule the pride they’ve taken over together. One pride may have up to four ”kings” that are all closely related. But since The Lion King is Hamlet on savanna the lion brothers of course cannot have that good a relationship.
