HALF A CIRCLE
When I was a kid: ”Mom, look at me jumping!” //

Joku joskus jossain (en muista kuka missä milloin) mainitsi tämän kolmannessa ruudussa esiintyvän nykytilanteen, mutta törmätessäni neljännen ruudun tilanteeseen, no, se löi ällikällä.
Someone sometime somewhere (I can’t remember who when where) pointed out the situation nowadays as pictured in the third panel, but I was honestly puzzled when I witnessed the situation in panel four.

A couple of weeks ago I drew the Goose Team’s poster which amused my work mates. One of them suggested that I could ”goosify” a famous movie poster so that instead a bicycle flying past the full moon there’s be the zoo’s electric car loaded with goose equipment…

Tällä kertaa jouduin jopa muutamaksi päiväksi saikulle, vaikkei mitään isommin rikki ollutkaan. Mutta kun työ on kävellä maastossa koko päivän, niin jalan on oltava kunnossa.
This time I got a few days of sick leave even though nothing was broken. But because my job is to walk around outside all day long I need properly working feet for it.
SKETCH DUMP
Vuosien varrella mulle on kertynyt koko kasa erilaisia luonnoksia ja harjoitelmia milloin mistäkin. Ajattelin julkaista muutaman kokoelman.
Along the years I’ve made quite a lot of sketches and practice works from different places. I thought I’d share a few collections.
Nämä ensimmäiset olen piirtänyt Helsingin Luonnontieteellisellä museolla. Pääsin sinne ilmaiseksi opiskeluaikoinani, joten menin silloin tällöin sinne piirtämään. Nämä ovat aika vanhoja, vuosilta 2013-2014. Ja kyllä, tuon saman hirvenvasan piirsin aika monta kertaa.
These ones are from back when I was studying and I had free entrance to the National History Museum in Helsinki. I sometimes went there just to draw. These are pretty old, dating back to 2013 and 2014. And yes, I’ve drawn that moose calf several times.
Nämä ovat eläintarhassa piirrettyjä, ja selväti nopeampia luonnoksia kuin museolla piirretyt, koska eläimet tuppaavat liikkumaan enemmän kun ne ovat elossa. Kengurut ovat kivoja alkulämmittelyyn, kamelit pysyvät paikoillaan mukavasti, ja käärmeet ovat jopa niin liikkumattomia, että ne ehtii värittää. Nämä ovat talvelta 2020-2021.
These ones I’ve drawn in the zoo so they are much faster drawn than the ones at the Museum because animals tend to move more when they are alive. Kangaroos are fun for warm-up, camels don’t move too much and some snakes are so stationary that there’s even time to color them. These are from winter 2020-2021.
Ja sitten vielä muutamia villejä kalalokkeja ja valkoposkihanhia. Jostain syystä kaikkein parhaita luonnoksia ovat usein ne kaikkein epämääräisimmät.
And then some wild common gulls and barnacle geese. For some reason the roughest sketches are often the best.
